| As a teen, I built my first
crude musical instruments such as a banjo made from a fruit cake tin. My first job
was in the repair shop of Bean Music Company in Little Rock in 1979, where I did odd
jobs like cleaning rosin off of rental violins and stripping lacquer from brass
instruments. While still in high-school I worked with Robert Rife', a violin builder
and repairman ( and sometimes vaudeville magician). I built several solid-body electric guitars before earning a degree in Electrical Engineering. I then started studying acoustic guitar construction and built one acoustic guitar based on a Martin kit. My recent projects have been medium size acoustic guitars built from scratch. Please contact me if you are looking for a hand-built one-of-a-kind guitar. I can transform your ideas into a great-sounding and beautiful musical instrument. I want to thank the people in my life who helped make my dreams come true: My wonderful son, Austin My mother and father for guiding me to find my own way Three great brothers Many friends and family A life-long friend and Hammond organ expert, Bob Tanner | ![]() |
